No matter what you do in this life, you have to do the work. To do that you likely need to stay on task to not only see the end result, but also get there. It’s up to you in the end, no one else.
But the older you get, the more understanding you are that you can’t do it all on your own. If you think that, it’s only a matter of time before you’re humbled. We all have a vision of who we want to be in our professional and personal lives. For me, I know to help my vision become reality I’m always on the lookout for people who will show me the way. People who can teach me their best practices and help me get to my goal. In other words, I want a coach.
The truth is, we could all use a good coach. I’ve had some huge life lessons from coaches growing up. What’s great about a coach is that you can ask questions and they not only help you stay on track with your goals, but they usually push you out of your comfort zone to do so.
At the end of the day, a coach is your accountability partner. They’re both the teacher and the guide we all need to take that next step with confidence.
Think about it, do you know the name of the coaches of your idols? I know very few of them, but after doing research I found that most of my idols have one or more coaches that have been advising them along the way.
Learning from others is worth it. Having different coaches in my life has been invaluable.
If you had the chance to hire a coach today, what area of your life would you need coaching?
This month’s theme on my blog is coaching. For the next 4 weeks we’ll be talking about various types of coaching and I’ll be introducing you to some valuable resources to help further your TV career.
